Share a file or folder
Share with anyone who has the link or only with specific people, and add a password, expiry date or editing permissions.
On this page
In the app: Long tap the item → tap "share link" or tap into the item and click the share icon. On the website: Choose Share from the item's ⋮ menu.
Who can open it
- Private: sharing is off. Only you can open it.
- Specific people: enter email addresses. People must sign in to Bodek with one of those addresses.
- Anyone with link: anyone with the link can open it, without an account.
Click Copy to copy the link. It looks like https://files.bodek.us/sl/AbCd1234.
Sending a link via email - only works on the website To send it by email from Bodek, enter an address and an optional message and click Send email. Adding people under Specific people doesn't email them by itself.
Extra protection
- Require a password: at least 8 characters. After 5 wrong tries the link is locked for 5 minutes.
- Expire this link: after 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days, 30 days or a Custom date. When it expires, the item goes back to private.
Let people edit a folder
Turn on Allow editing and choose what signed-in visitors can do: Upload, Download, Rename and Copy are on by default; Move and Delete are off. Click Save permissions. People who aren't signed in can only view.
Files shared with you
Shared with me in the sidebar lists items you've opened from a link while signed in. If the owner stops sharing, they disappear from the list.
Stop sharing
Open Share again and choose Private. The link stops working immediately.
