Camera backup copies the photos and videos on your phone to Bodek Files, so they're safe even if you lose your phone.

Turn it on

  1. Open the Bodek Files app and go to Settings → Camera backup (on Android, turn on Back up photos & videos in Settings).
  2. Turn on Camera backup and allow access to your photos when your phone asks.
  3. Your photos are saved to the folder Camera backup / your phone's name in your current workspace.

Photos that are already in that folder aren't uploaded again, so it's safe to turn backup off and on.

When it runs

  • iPhone and iPad: while the app is open, and in the background when iOS allows it — usually when your phone is charging and on Wi-Fi.
  • Android: in the background every few hours. Only on Wi-Fi is on by default to save mobile data.
  • Tap Back up now to start right away.

Good to know

  • If you use more than one account in the app, backup goes to one account. You'll see Backing up to … in Settings and can choose a different account.
  • The first backup of a large library can take a while. Keeping the app open and your phone charging speeds it up.
  • On iPhone, originals stored in iCloud are downloaded to your phone first, then uploaded.
