A Wi-Fi QR code lets guests join your network by pointing their phone camera at it. It's handy for homes, offices, cafés and holiday rentals.

Create it

  1. In the QR Code Generator, choose Wi-Fi.
  2. In Network name (SSID), enter the name exactly as it appears on your devices, including capital letters and spaces.
  3. Under Security, choose the type your router uses: WPA / WPA2 / WPA3 (the most common), WEP, or None (open network).
  4. Enter the Password. Select the eye button to show it and check for typos. An open network doesn't need a password.
  5. If your network doesn't broadcast its name, tick Hidden network.
  6. Download the code and print it.

How guests use it

Most iPhones and Android phones recognise Wi-Fi codes in the built-in camera app. Guests point the camera at the code and tap Join (or similar) when their phone asks.

Keep in mind

  • The password is stored inside the code. Anyone who can see the code can join your network, so put it where only your guests can see it.
  • The code is generated in your browser. If you save it to your account, the network name and password are saved with it.
  • If you change your Wi-Fi password, create and print a new code; the old one stops working.
  • For visitors, consider using your router's guest network.
